Job Summary
Our client is seeking a talented Medical Collector to perform collection activities on complex denials and prepare appeals for outstanding balances with BCBS, UHC, Aetna/Cigna, and self-funded/commercial providers. This role is essential for ensuring efficient collections in a professional/facility fee environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform collection activities on complex denials for various insurance providers.
- Prepare appeals and other necessary actions on outstanding balances.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies and customers.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of collection processes and medical insurance policies.
- 3 years of medical collections experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance payers (BCBS, UHC) and self-funded providers.
- Proficient in EOBs, HIPAA, ICD-10, and CPT codes.
Experience
- 3 years of medical collections experience in a relevant field.
- Experience with hospital and/or physician collections.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of Out of Network Collections, NSA, TDI, and IDR processes.
Additional Requirements
- Potential for remote work after 30-45 days based on performance.
