Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Insurance Reimbursement Specialist to manage and organize active health plan recovery and insurance claims files. This role involves serving as the main contact for inquiries, communicating professionally with external stakeholders, and ensuring timely resolution of claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize heavy portfolios of active health plan recovery and insurance claims files to keep them moving smoothly toward resolution.
- Serve as the main contact for inbound calls and emails, answering questions about third-party liability claims, liens, and coverage.
- Communicate professionally with external stakeholders, including plaintiff attorneys, insurance adjusters, and claim representatives.
- Send out formal notices and diligently follow up on missing paperwork, documentation requests, or pending file materials.
- Audit and prep file packages, logging real-time updates in tracking systems and flagging any coverage or liability gaps to attorneys and senior paralegals before negotiations.
- Track incoming reimbursement payments to support team responsiveness standards and escalate any processing delays to management.
Qualifications
- Driven & Proactive Mindset: High level of personal drive, outspoken enough to ask questions during training when confused, and eager to take ownership of case touches and revenue generation.
- Fast-Paced Capability: Proven ability to thrive in high-volume, goal-driven corporate settings (e.g., managing high daily case touches/calls without sacrificing accuracy or quality).
- Professional Stakeholder Interfacing: Exceptional, articulate verbal and written communication skills with the professional demeanor needed to confidently phone-screen and converse with plaintiff attorneys, legal assistants, and insurance adjusters.
Skills
- Prior experience in healthcare reimbursement, subrogation, TPL, or payer-specific environments is preferred.
- Hands-on familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) or electronic claims processing databases is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch). 2 x 15 minute paid breaks given during the day.
