Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Self Pay Collector to manage self-pay accounts and collect outstanding patient balances. This role involves engaging with patients to discuss balances, payment options, and financial assistance, while carefully explaining bills and insurance information. The successful candidate will document all payment activity, maintain accurate account records, collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies, and monitor collection efforts in compliance with organizational policies, always maintaining a professional and compassionate, customer-focused approach to patient inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage self-pay accounts and collect outstanding patient balances.
- Contact patients to discuss balances, payment options, and financial assistance.
- Explain bills, insurance information, and payment responsibilities.
- Document payment activity and maintain accurate account records.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Monitor collection efforts while ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Respond to patient inquiries professionally and maintain a compassionate, customer-focused approach.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of healthcare insurance - EOBS, COB, Deductibles.
Experience
- Self Pay experience preferred.
