Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join their team. The primary responsibilities include collecting specimens following proper handling protocols, ensuring accurate clinical results, and executing various administrative duties related to specimen management. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with all safety practices and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect specimens to ensure viability and accurate clinical results.
- Identify patients, label and record test tubes, log procedures, and enter specimen data.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clients, and coworkers.
- Perform administrative duties to manage the accession and processing of specimens.
- Prepare and label specimens for transportation accurately.
- Understand laboratory requisitioning for appropriate billing documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and manage laboratory supplies.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies and laboratory safety practices.
- Maintain current licensure as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Comfortable and confident performing independent phlebotomy work on older adults.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous phlebotomy training or experience.
Experience
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
- Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians preferred.
Skills
- Strong phlebotomy skills, particularly with older adults.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in specimen handling and data entry.
Schedule/Shift
- M-F, 7AM-4PM
- Possibility for Saturday coverage if desired
