Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Coding Coordinator to lead a team and drive productivity metrics while implementing cutting-edge AI technology in the healthcare industry. The role involves managing coding denials and appeals and building strong relationships with providers and clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve team productivity metrics
- Realign service lines creatively to hit operational and productivity goals
- Lead the 12 to 18-month implementation and transition of new AI coding algorithm
- Interface directly with providers and clinics to educate, support, and build relationships during the AI transition
- Manage coding denials, write/draft coding appeals, and ensure ongoing compliance through auditing
- Provide leadership and structure to a blended team of coders
Qualifications
- Active coding certification (e.g., CPC, COC, CIC, AHIMA/AAPC equivalent)
- 2–3+ years of leadership/supervisory experience within a coding or HIM environment
- Strong hands-on coding background and experience managing denials/appeals
- Solid EMR background
Preferred qualifications include a solid EMR background with a strong preference for knowledge of Cerner/Oracle, strong interpersonal skills for face-to-face interaction with clinic providers, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) background, and outpatient coding experience preferred.

The position offers the opportunity for hybrid work flexibility and includes performance bonus eligibility (up to 5%).
