About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, highly organized, and professional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a premier ENT & Allergy practice in Flemington, NJ. In this role, you will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care, manage clinical workflows, and ensure accurate electronic medical documentation. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Operations
- Room patients, obtain and accurately record vital signs, medical histories, current medications, and allergies.
- Prepare patients for specialty evaluations and assist physicians during ENT and allergy procedures.
- Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice, including injections, specimen collection, and assisting with allergy testing and immunotherapy.
- Maintain, sanitize, and stock examination rooms, clinical instruments, and medical supplies in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control standards.
Administrative & EMR Management
- Accurately document all patient information, clinical findings, and procedures using NextGen EMR.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, follow-up visits, and specialty testing.
- Manage prescription requests, referrals, prior authorizations, and related clinical paperwork.
- Communicate test results, treatment instructions, and follow-up plans to patients under provider direction.
- Deliver professional, empathetic, and timely communication to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Certification: Current national certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, or equivalent nationally recognized credential).
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or clinical setting.
- Technical: Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong multi-tasking capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably within an ENT, Allergy, or Otolaryngology specialty practice.
- Hands-on proficiency with NextGen EMR charting and scheduling.
- Experience assisting with allergy testing, immunotherapy, injections, or phlebotomy.
- Experience handling insurance referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refills.
- Active BLS / CPR certification.
