Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Representative to join their centralized business office. The primary role involves managing the retrieval, organization, and distribution of confidential medical records while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations such as HIPAA. This position serves as the primary contact for legal entities regarding patient records, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the retrieval, organization, and distribution of confidential medical records.
- Serve as the primary contact for legal entities regarding patient records and documentation requests.
- Handle extensive professional correspondence via phone, email, and fax with external offices.
- Process and manage documentation related to liens accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in documentation processes.
- Collaborate with the billing department for timely claim submission documentation.
- Maintain organized documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Participate in a small collaborative team, assisting colleagues as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in medical records or similar administrative capacity, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and knowledge of the front-end medical billing process.
- High school diploma or GED.
Skills
- Reliability and ability to maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and organization.
