Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Facilities Technician responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and safety within office spaces and equipment. The primary responsibilities include responding to Facilities Help Desk tickets, managing space setup and logistics, performing building maintenance, supporting project upgrades, coordinating vendor activities, and overseeing preventive maintenance. This role is central to maintaining high standards in facilities operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Ticket Resolution & Customer Service: Respond to, track, and update Facilities Help Desk tickets, ensuring all service requests are thoroughly completed in a timely manner.
- Space Setup & Office Logistics: Assist with the installation, configuration, and layout of office moves, conference rooms, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas. Set up furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage units, lighting, electrical setups, and appliances according to end-user specifications.
- Building & Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine troubleshooting and repairs to address minor and major maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, structural, and facility equipment systems.
- Project Support & Vendor Coordination: Support tenant improvement and facility upgrade projects. Assist with RFPs, budget tracking, vendor relations, and progress reporting, ensuring all work complies with local building codes, safety requirements, and operational workflows.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight: Review and log facilities purchase orders, invoices, and service contracts to confirm accuracy, contract compliance, and completed work prior to forwarding to Accounts Payable.
- Preventative Maintenance Management: Coordinate preventative maintenance contracts for critical infrastructure—including generators, UPS units, HVAC systems, and specialized refrigeration/freezer equipment. Schedule vendor visits, maintain PM logs, and ensure all scheduled maintenance meets service contract standards.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience.
- Experience in trades such as HVAC filter changing, plumbing, handyman, home remodeling, or auto mechanic work.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Lab equipment.
Schedule / Shift
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8 hours/day). Needs a bit of flexibility for occasional early/late stays or rare weekend work (2-3 Saturdays/Sundays per year)
