Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - In-Home Care

About the Role Medix is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with acute care experience to join a growing team delivering high-quality medical care in patients' homes. In this field-based role, you will transition to a solo provider model, independently conducting thorough health assessments, diagnosing conditions, managing treatment plans, and coordinating follow-up care. Operating within designated local geographic areas to keep commute times manageable, you will see between 4 to 7 patients per day, spending extended time (45+ minutes) delivering compassionate, whole-person care.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive Compensation Package: $84.13 to $87.98 per hour (equivalent to a salary range of $175,000 to $183,000 annually)

• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 (paid out 90 days after start date)

• Shift Bonus: Earn an additional $900 per shift for optional weekend coverage

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, independent medical care to patients in their home environments

• Conduct thorough health assessments, physical examinations, and evaluations for mild to complex conditions

• Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans

• Perform hands-on clinical procedures within scope of practice, including EKGs, catheterizations, splinting, suturing, wound care, and IV fluid administration

• Order, perform, and interpret point-of-care laboratory studies and diagnostic testing results

• Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medication management, and ongoing care needs

• Navigate difficult conversations related to goals of care and care planning

• Accurately document all patient encounters and maintain strict compliance with clinical standards

• Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to drive quality outcomes and high patient satisfaction

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of practice

• Current national board certification

• Active BLS and ACLS certifications

• Active DEA registration (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

• Minimum of 2 years of advanced practice provider experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Acute Care, or Hospital Medicine

• Demonstrated hands-on procedural proficiency, including EKGs and catheterizations

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Ability to work independently in a solo-provider, field-based environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience providing care in patients' homes or community-based settings

• Proven track record of practicing as a solo provider

• Strong background in acute care assessment and complex patient management

Schedule and Work Hours

• Full-Time, 40-hour work week: Monday through Friday

• Standard shift windows: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

• No required weekend shifts (optional weekend shifts available with a $900 per shift bonus)
