Pay Rate: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire
Location: Remote (All US states eligible except AK, CA, HI, NY)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly engaging, customer-focused, and licensed Employee Benefits Advisor to join a fast-growing health tech platform. In this role, you will act as a trusted consultant, guiding employees through one of their most important annual decisions: selecting individual health insurance plans supported by employer contributions (ICHRAs).
This is a 100% non-sales, non-commission consultative role. You will focus entirely on education, plan navigation, and delivering a high-touch, empathetic onboarding experience.
Key Responsibilities
-
Inbound & Escalation Support: During your first month, manage inbound phone support, resolve platform access issues, and handle tier-two escalation tickets originating from the AI chat system.
-
1-on-1 Virtual Consultations: Conduct interactive, on-camera virtual enrollment meetings via MS Teams to educate employees on plan choices, network structures, out-of-pocket costs, and defined employer contributions/ICHRAs.
-
Plan & Coverage Guidance: Analyze Summary of Benefits coverage to help employees—including those with complex medical needs or qualifying life events (QLEs)—select off-exchange individual plans that best fit their personal needs.
-
Complex Case Navigation: Assist employees with provider lookups, care navigation, and three-way carrier calls when necessary.
-
System Documentation: Maintain precise case notes and record interaction details across HubSpot, client platform software, and carrier portals. Upload meeting recordings to SharePoint accurately and promptly.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to flag platform UX improvements and contribute content to knowledge-base materials.
Required Qualifications
-
Active Health & Life Insurance License in any US state (must maintain active licensure).
-
Benefits Expertise: Proven experience with employer-sponsored health benefits, defined contributions, and/or Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs).
-
Technical Plan Fluency: Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and explain complex Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) documents in clear, accessible language.
-
Professional On-Camera Presence: High social awareness, polished verbal skills, and comfort maintaining a professional home-office setup while on camera with clients all day.
-
Workplace Culture Fit: Strong attention to detail, high coachability, and a collaborative, hard-working mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Schedule & Hours
-
Standard Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Local Time) during initial training and pre-open enrollment.
-
National Open Enrollment Schedule: Shift coverage spans 7:00 AM Eastern to 7:00 PM Pacific.
-
10-hour daily shifts are required during peak enrollment.
-
Rotating weekend coverage (Saturday/Sunday) and optional overtime available.
-
Mandatory PTO blackout period applies during peak enrollment season.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
-
Growth Potential: High opportunity for upward mobility as the organization doubles year-over-year.
-
Consultative Impact: Zero sales pressure or quotas—your sole focus is helping employees navigate their benefits.
-
Supportive Culture: Work within a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that values humor, accountability, and continuous development.
