Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. The primary responsibilities of this role include preparing patients for exams, performing phlebotomy and various tests, administering injections, assisting with medication management, and supporting patient outreach efforts. This role is crucial in maintaining an efficient daily workflow and ensuring high standards of safety and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals.
- Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing.
- Administer injections per provider direction and training.
- Assist with prescription management and medication counts.
- Support outreach efforts including appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up.
- Manage lab and PPE supplies and maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow.
- Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program.
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy.
- Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient.
- Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus.
- Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days is preferred.
Experience
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy
Skills
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
