Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join a clinical laboratory on a 3-month contract supporting maternity leave coverage. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to perform testing across multiple laboratory disciplines while supporting specimen collection, processing, quality control, and patient results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Specimen Collection & Processing: Collect patient specimens, obtain pre-authorizations, and handle incoming and reference lab send-out testing.
• Laboratory Testing & Analysis: Perform testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Urinalysis, and Peripheral Blood Smears.
• Transfusion Services: Correctly identify and process specimens per blood bank policies.
• Equipment & Inventory Management: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; monitor supply inventory and prepare reagents.
• Quality Control & Compliance: Maintain QC logs and adhere to OSHA standards.
• Documentation & Results Management: Record patient results, verify critical values, and document corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related science field.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory experience required.
• AMT, ASCP, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.

Preferred:

• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification
• Phlebotomy experience

Schedule & Compensation:

• Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour shifts
• $30–$32/hour, depending on experience
• 3-month contract providing maternity leave coverage
