Job Summary

Our client is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse who will be responsible for providing comprehensive professional nursing care in adherence to nursing standards and department policies. The primary responsibilities include assessing patient health status, formulating and implementing care plans, responding to emergencies, and ensuring proper preoperative and procedural techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate current, comprehensive professional knowledge and skills in conformance with recognized nursing standards and department policies.
• Assess physiological and psychosocial health status of the patient.
• Complete patient history and document information legibly, signing records with the appropriate professional title.
• Establish nursing diagnosis and formulate a plan of care tailored to patient/family needs.
• Implement nursing care plans and respond to emergencies.
• Practice within legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring accountability.
• Demonstrate proper preoperative processes, procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Anticipate surgeon’s needs during surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years OR experience required, Opthalmology OR experience preferred.
• Certifications in ACLS, PALS, BLS required.
• BSN or ADN required, BSN strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmology / Cataracts experience strongly preferred.

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to assess and problem solve.
• Technical proficiency in nursing care within an ambulatory care facility.
• Strong communication skills for effective verbal reporting and patient/family interactions.
