Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Investigator to oversee and manage clinical trials. The Principal Investigator ensures clinical safety, data accuracy, and promotes the well-being of subjects in clinical studies. This role provides crucial support to clinical research staff and involves leading study teams, mentoring, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as leader of a study team to execute clinical trials.
- Mentor and train staff in clinical trials conduct, protocol requirements, communication, and trial management skills.
- Create training strategies and mitigation plans.
- Conduct and manage clinical trials according to protocols, GCP, ICH Guidelines, and company SOPs.
- Implement and coordinate assigned clinical trials including start-up, vendor management, subject recruitment, and other protocol-related activities.
- Manage and report adverse events, serious adverse events, and deviations.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement research strategies to manage assigned protocols.
- Ensure good documentation practices and confidentiality are maintained.
- Ensure staff are appropriately delegated and trained.
- Create and execute recruitment strategies with recruitment staff.
- Perform clinical duties such as drug preparation, fibroscan, phlebotomy, ECG, and lab processing within scope.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed as an MD, DO, NP, or PA in the respective state.
- 5+ years of clinical experience or equivalent in clinical research industry.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in data privacy and confidentiality as per HIPAA requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for professional meetings.
- At least a few years of research experience, including at least 8-10 trials.
- Background in internal medicine, ER, Family Medicine preferred; open to other therapeutic areas.
Experience
- 5+ years of clinical experience or equivalent applicable experience in the clinical research industry.
