Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their team. The primary responsibilities include conducting history and physical examinations, managing obstetric and gynecological cases, providing health education, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Performs history and physical examinations on adults and children, including pre-employment and school physicals.
- Conducts Pap smears, breast examinations, and prescribes birth control as appropriate.
- Gathers complete medical history and provides treatment for various diseases.
- Reviews lab tests and diagnostic imaging, and arranges appropriate follow-up.
- Participates in provider meetings and quality assurance activities.
- Responds to calls from pharmacies, other physicians, and patients for medical advice.
- Assists in the training of staff and participates in chart review activities.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Equivalent to a Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- State of California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience seeing OB patients in an outpatient clinic.
- Experience focused on obstetrics and gynecology, including prenatal and postpartum care, labor & delivery involvement, and managing pregnancy-related conditions.
- Prenatal care and OB triage experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of nursing processes and medical models.
- Proficiency in health and physical assessments, medical diagnosis, and performing emergency resuscitation.
- Ability to communicate effectively and manage clinic operations.
Additional Requirements
- Must provide proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster doses when eligible.
Schedule / Shift
5 days a week / 40 hours a week
