Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for an outpatient surgery facility. The primary responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, administering injections, providing TB skin testing, and ensuring adequate documentation of procedures. The role requires effective communication with patients and staff, maintaining knowledge of clinic protocols, and assisting with prescription refills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by physician and obtain accurate vital signs.
- Provide basic health information and medical history documentation.
- Administer injections/medications under supervision and perform EKGs as ordered.
- Ensure proper documentation for all procedures and inform supervising nursing staff of any patient issues.
- Assist with telephone triage procedures and prescription refills in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
Qualifications
- Current Texas LVN State Licensure.
- CPR certification.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- 3+ years of experience in med/surg, physician office practice, or outpatient clinic.
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
