Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Surgery Coordinator to oversee surgical procedures across various specialties. The role involves performing duties for general to complex surgeries, assisting in high-volume cases, and coordinating instrument processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform duties for general to complex surgical procedures.
- Work across a wide range of surgical specialties.
- Scrub for high-volume cases, including back-to-back block scheduling.
- Prepare and separate instruments for sterile processing; direct sterilization is not required.
- Monitor surgical supplies and notify leads when inventory is running low.
- Assist with complex surgical procedures, including craniotomies, brain tumor biopsies, meniscus transplants, and other advanced procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited technical school in Operating Room Technician (ORT) or Surgical Technologist (ST) program.
- NBSTSA Certification required (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Experience in Robotics and Orthopedics.
- BLS Certification (or obtained within 6 weeks of hire).
- Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for on-call response.
Experience
- Neuro/Spine experience (head, spine, complex orthopedics) preferred.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Trauma Center experience preferred.
Additional Requirements
- On-call responsibilities rotate approximately every 4 to 5 weeks.
- Must be available for weekend call and rotating weekday on-call shifts.
