Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Patient Access Representative responsible for patient intake, registration, and maintaining data integrity in a hospital setting. The role requires managing patient records accurately and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients accurately and establish medical records using palm scanners.
- Assign initial ICD-10 diagnosis codes, verify insurance eligibility, and coordinate benefits.
- Prepare patient identification bracelets and serve as department greeter when needed.
- Present regulatory forms and obtain necessary signatures.
- Scan patient IDs, insurance documents, and clinical documents into the system.
- Maintain high accuracy standards and manage RQI worklists to correct errors.
- Collect co-payments and safeguard patient valuables.
- Refer patients to financial counseling resources as needed.
- Maintain professional demeanor, upholding HIPAA privacy standards.
- Cross-train to support team staffing needs and mentor new registrars.
Qualifications
- Strong multi-tasking, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred.
- EPIC EMR experience is preferred.
Schedule/Shift
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with overnight and weekend shift differentials available.
