Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Customer Service Specialist with a focus on revenue cycle management for a phone-based, high-volume call center role. The primary responsibility of this position is to support patients by handling continuous inbound calls, managing accounts, resolving issues, and connecting patients with financial resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound patient phone calls.
- Manage accounts, answer balance inquiries, research billing concerns, post payments, and set up policy-compliant payment plans.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve patient account issues independently and with internal teams.
- Connect patients with financial counseling and charity screening resources.
- Meet established customer service and collection targets.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in computer navigation, experience with DOS-based systems, and web applications such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, a polite phone demeanor, and a customer service mindset.
- Comfort working in a high-volume call center environment with 7.5 hours of continuous daily phone time.
- Background in medical revenue cycle operations or as a Member Service Representative for major health plans (e.g., Blue Cross, Humana).
- Demonstrated job longevity and stability across past employment.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Experience
- Experience in medical revenue cycle operations or with major health plans.
- Strong understanding of healthcare insurance claims, EOBs, payment plans, and co/primary insurances.
- Prior revenue cycle call center or high-volume phone-based customer service experience is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Computer navigation proficiency, high typing accuracy.
- Strong customer service mindset, polite phone demeanor, patience with callers.
