Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Cashier. The primary responsibilities include conducting substance use assessments, using evidence-based models such as motivational interviewing, and contributing to child protective service teams. The role involves making referrals, educating staff on best practices, and ensuring high-quality service delivery tailored to family needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct substance use assessments using clinical interviews and standardized tools.
- Utilize evidence-based methods to assess readiness for change.
- Contribute to decision-making related to child safety and participate in case conferences.
- Refer families to appropriate community-based services and levels of care.
- Educate staff on substance use trends, treatment options, and family engagement best practices.
- Ensure individualized referrals and collaborate with the Access and Referral Department.
- Facilitate warm handoffs during referrals.
- Participate in relevant meetings and provide after-hour consultation coverage as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid CASAC Credential required; CASAC-T and CASAC-P are not accepted.
- High School diploma or GED considered; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with evidence-based models like Motivational Interviewing and substance use assessment measures.
- Familiarity with Connections and PROMIS databases preferred.
Skills
- Technical skills in substance use assessments and evidence-based methods.
- Soft skills in communication and teamwork, especially within child protective services.
Shift
- Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Additional Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to travel and work in the ACS field office in Brooklyn.
- Ability to travel within the community.

- Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
