Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician responsible for conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests, managing specimens, and operating laboratory equipment. The role demands proficiency in Chemistry, Immunoassays, Hematology, and Semen Analysis, with a focus on ensuring timely and accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform standard laboratory testing across multiple departments, including Chemistry, Immunoassays, Hematology, and specialized Semen Analysis.
- Manage specimen processing, including accessioning, receiving, and checking in specimens, and correcting orders within the LIS/EHR system.
- Operate laboratory analyzers and perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Review and release test results to the EHR for provider review, prioritizing time-sensitive samples to maintain sample integrity.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to oversee afternoon courier drop-offs and ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory experience in a reference or clinical lab setting.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in clinical laboratory settings.
- Experience with automated laboratory equipment and troubleshooting.
Skills
- Proficient with automated chemistry, immunoassay, and hematology analyzers.
- Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and familiarity with LIS and EHR software systems.
- Willingness to undergo training for specialized manual/automated procedures.
