Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Intake Coordinator to efficiently manage patient referrals for home infusion, ambulatory care, and specialty pharmacy services. The coordinator will oversee the patient admission process, conduct insurance and prior authorization management, act as a liaison among stakeholders, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Receive, log, and process patient referrals, prioritizing clinical urgency.
- Review clinical documents for completeness and gather missing information.
- Enter patient data into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Coordinate start-of-care timelines and service transitions.
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits.
- Submit clinical documentation for prior authorization approvals.
- Communicate financial obligations to patients and internal teams.
- Serve as the primary contact between patients and healthcare providers.
- Maintain records of all intake activities and ensure compliance.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty pharmacy intake or similar fields.
- Basic proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare insurance processes.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Professional communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in home infusion or specialty pharmacy settings.
- Advanced knowledge of authorization workflows and coverage rules.
- Associate degree or higher in a related field.
Schedule / Shift
M-F, 8am-5pm
