Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Wound Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized wound care treatment directly to patients in various settings, including homes and residential facilities. The role involves comprehensive wound assessments and treatments to promote healing and improve quality of life for vulnerable and homebound patients.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments in various care settings.
- Treat acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic and pressure ulcers.
- Perform wound debridement and manage advanced wound therapies.
- Order and interpret labs and imaging as needed.
- Prescribe medications and wound-care supplies.
- Identify and manage wound-related complications.
- Develop treatment plans and educate patients, caregivers, and staff.
- Coordinate care with healthcare providers and teams.
- Complete accurate documentation using a mobile EMR.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical regulations.
- Manage mobile routes and handle clinical supplies securely.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of one to two years of wound-care experience or advanced wound-care training.
- Strong knowledge in wound assessment, staging, treatment, and healing principles.
- Proficiency in wound debridement and advanced wound-care modalities.
- Experience with wound therapy technologies.
Skills
- Proficiency with mobile EMR systems and clinical documentation.
- Strong communication and care-coordination skills.
- Organizational and time-management skills for mobile routes and patient visits.
- Technical skills in advanced wound-care treatments and equipment management.
Schedule / Shift
- Flexible schedule with management of availability and workflow.
- Compensation based on a pay-per-visit model.
- Occasional telehealth wound-care follow-ups may be required.
- Local travel between patient and facility locations is required.
