Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Wound Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized wound care services. The role involves performing comprehensive wound assessments, treating a wide range of wounds, and coordinating care with other healthcare providers across various settings.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments in patient homes and various care facilities.
- Assess and treat acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, and more.
- Perform wound debridement within the provider’s scope of practice.
- Apply and manage advanced wound therapies including NPWT and compression systems.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically appropriate.
- Prescribe medications, dressings, and durable medical equipment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation using a mobile EMR.
- Maintain compliance with clinical regulations and HIPAA standards.
- Manage assigned mobile routes and secure handling of clinical supplies.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum one to two years of wound-care experience or advanced wound-care training.
- Strong proficiency in wound debridement and advanced wound-care modalities.
- Ability to manage wound-related complications independently.
- Proficient with mobile EMR systems for clinical documentation.
- Active California Nurse Practitioner license and national board certification.
- Active DEA registration if required for prescribing duties.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based wound care principles.
- Experience in managing both acute and chronic wounds.
- Effective communication and care-coordination skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Schedule / Shift
Flexible schedule with mobile coverage required; provider will manage their availability within the agreed-upon service area.
