Medical Assistant - Laguna Woods
Position Overview Seeking an experienced Back Office Medical Assistant to directly support the highest-volume provider in a thriving, highly reputable orthopedic practice. In this key role, you will work 1-on-1 with a surgeon—managing clinic flow two days a week and assisting with procedures, cast/splint removals, and heavy administrative coordination on surgery days. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a growing practice known for excellent patient reviews.
Responsibilities

Serve as the primary, dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant to a high-volume provider.

Clinical & Procedure Support: Room patients, take vitals, and set up procedure rooms. Assist provider during in-office procedures, pass instruments/gloves, and perform splint and cast removals.

Administrative Coordination: Handle heavy administrative tasks to support the provider, including calling patients, checking primary care physician (PCP) clearances, monitoring emails, responding to patient calls/messages, and preparing/updating clinical notes.

Clinic Operations: Ensure exam room computers are logged in and ready for the provider; occasionally float to nearby sister clinics (Fountain Valley, Irvine, Los Alamitos) if rarely needed.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a Back Office Medical Assistant.

Proven background working in a high-volume, multi-provider outpatient clinic environment.

Medical Assistant Diploma / Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications

National Certification (NCMA or CCMA) is a strong plus.

Prior experience in Orthopedics, specifically with cast and splint removal, is highly desirable.

Familiarity or experience with Aprima EMR.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch).

Competitive hourly pay based on experience (Contract-to-Hire; direct conversion upon reaching required hours).
