Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Billing Customer Service Representative who will handle patient inquiries and complaints related to their bills. The primary responsibilities include taking inbound calls from patients regarding billing questions, understanding Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and updating patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive 30-60 calls from patients and providers regarding payment and service issues, as well as updates on insurance data.
- Conduct outbound calls as necessary to insurance companies and doctor's offices.
- Determine the nature of calls and document them via the claim system (XIFIN) with the appropriate reason code.
- Research, resolve, and respond to billing issues efficiently.
- Take payments over the phone or set up payment plans.
- Navigate through multiple windows, tabs, and screens.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED/transcripts required.
- 2+ years of experience in a Call Center / Contact Center, working in a phone queue.
- Strong phone presence and customer service skills required.
- Preferred skills include healthcare experience, medical billing terminology knowledge, understanding of EOBs, and bilingual in Spanish.
