Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. The primary responsibilities include assisting medical staff, handling patient examinations, documenting patient information, and performing routine screening tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Measures and records vital signs such as weight, height, and blood pressure.
- Ensures accurate documentation into the EMR, including patient interviews and histories.
- Assists medical staff with patient examinations and maintains necessary supplies and equipment.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information according to federal and state regulations.
- Participates in professional development and maintains memberships with medical assistant associations as applicable.
- Performs front office duties such as reception, check-in/check-out, payment collection, and electronic scheduling.
- Draws patient blood samples and prepares them for laboratory analysis.
- Prepares and administers injectable medications and immunizations.
- Changes dressings, applies bandages, and performs first aid procedures.
- Assists patients with scheduling internal/external referrals.
- Travel may be required for certain clients and health centers.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Medical Assistant in family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or walk-in clinics.
- Comfortable performing independent blood draws.
- BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or ProCPR.
- MA diploma/certification preferred.
