Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Nursing Coordinator to oversee the nursing team and ensure patients receive safe, high-quality care. This position involves coordination of patient care, staff support, clinical activity monitoring, and ensuring adherence to organizational, state, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and oversee quality nursing care for patients.
- Assess patients, perform triage, and identify changes in their condition.
- Develop and follow patient care plans.
- Administer medications, immunizations, treatments, and other nursing interventions as ordered.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, testing, and other clinical needs.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and health maintenance.
- Document patient care accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, follow-up care, and other patient needs.
- Communicate changes in patient condition with providers and other members of the care team.
- Oversee/support nursing staff based on their skills and experience.
- Provide orientation, training, and ongoing education to employees.
- Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment.
- Hold or support daily team huddles to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure staff follow organizational policies, procedures, and infection-control practices.
- Monitor staff assignments, workload, documentation, and daily responsibilities.
- Help identify problems and develop effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in a hospital, clinic, school, or similar healthcare setting.
- EMR experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
