Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Scheduler to manage both operational and clinical tasks in a high-volume outpatient healthcare setting. The role involves a balanced workflow between front-office coordination and clinical medical assistant duties, ensuring smooth patient experiences and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Dual Operational & Clinical Execution: Manage a balanced workflow alternating between front-office coordination and back-office medical assistant support based on daily patient volume.
- High-Volume Patient Coordination: Serve as a primary intake and phone coordinator within a high-volume environment, handling 10 to 50 inbound/outbound calls per shift.
- Concierge Patient Administration: Oversee membership/patient check-in and check-out workflows, guest pass/membership verifications, and patient paperwork completion.
- Diagnostic & Care Coordination: Act as a central point of contact for patient diagnostic services, scheduling imaging, coordinating lab requests, and liaising between clinical staff and patients.
- Clinical Ancillary Support: Provide back-office clinical support including patient rooming, gathering vital signs, and handling/processing blood specimens.
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration: Work closely with attending physicians, registered nurses, radiologic technologists, and administrative personnel.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Active National Medical Assistant Certification (e.g., CCMA/NHA, RMA, or CMA) and active BLS certification required at hire.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2+ years of experience in a high-volume outpatient healthcare, hospital, or urgent care environment.
- Proficiency in front-desk coordination and clinical medical assisting.
- Experience in call-center-like or high-call-volume medical reception environments.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2+ years of hands-on experience within a high-volume healthcare setting.
Skills
- Hybrid administrative and clinical competency.
- Proficiency in handling high phone volume and managing multi-line phone systems.
Additional Requirements
- Must work alternating weekends (approximately 4 weekend days per month).
Schedule / Shift
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Full-time, 5 shifts per week.
- Alternating weekends.
