Compensation: Up to $3115/weekly gross (max tax free stipend for eligible travelers)
Job Description
Medix is seeking a dedicated Travel Pharmacist to support an acute care hospital facility in the Weston, Wisconsin area. In this role, you will work as a key member of the healthcare team, delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care across specialized departments, including Emergency, Surgery, and Critical Care units.
As a travel clinician representing Medix, you will partner directly with facility leadership to manage pharmacy operations independently, participate in critical response codes, and oversee vital medications for patient car
Key Responsibilities
- Perform core inpatient pharmacy duties, including cart refills, order verification, prescription fulfillment, and comprehensive clinical consultations.
- Actively participate in facility code response teams, performing bedside and emergency compounding (e.g., mass transfusion protocols, surgical compounding, and ED stabilization).
- Provide clinical oversight and support across specialized care areas, including Emergency, Surgery, Critical Care, and the Birth Center.
- Manage medication distribution using Pyxis and Omnicell automated dispensing systems.
- Document and manage clinical care through the Cerner EMR platform.
- Work autonomously to ensure accurate dispensing, clinical monitoring, and safe medication delivery.
Requirements
- License: Active Wisconsin (WI) Pharmacist License (In Good Standing).
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Hands-on experience working independently in an acute care or hospital environment.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications (facility will provide training if certification renewal/completion is needed for code team participation)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Cerner EMR and Pyxis/Omnicell automated systems.
- Strong clinical decision-making, task accountability, and patient consultation skills.
