Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe to join their team. The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) collaborates with primary care providers to ensure accurate and efficient medical documentation during patient encounters. The role involves scribing medical histories, examinations, and other pertinent information into electronic health record (EHR) systems, enabling healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Encounter Documentation: Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and accurately document all relevant medical information in real-time.
- EHR Management: Utilize EHR systems to input and manage patient data, ensuring documentation complies with standards.
- Chart Review: Regularly review and organize patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
- Effective Communication: Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and team members to facilitate information exchange.
- Data Entry and Coding: Input accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes for provided diagnoses and procedures.
- Liaison for Documentation Queries: Work with the coding team and providers for resolution of queries.
- Morning Huddle Preparation: Research patients' historical charts to enhance presentations.
- Quality Metrics Management: Manage and report healthcare quality metrics and close care gaps.
- Population Health Optimization: Analyze strategies to aid patient stratification and chronic care management.
- Evidence-Based Research: Stay updated on medical protocols and provide data updates to the care team.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- 2+ years of scribe experience or clinical experience with some scribing
- Medical Assistant Diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred
