Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to work within their Medicare Advantage Value Based Model at a clinic focused on serving the senior population. The Medical Assistant will work alongside a doctor in a retail-type clinic setting, providing high-quality care and building relationships with patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, measure and record vital signs, and gather medical histories.
- Perform examinations, routine screenings, and phlebotomy.
- Engage with patients and report findings to the primary care provider.
- Process patient phone messages, return calls, and relay information to patients and physicians.
- Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures.
- Administer CPR and health coaching when necessary.
- See Medicare Advantage members in a primary care setting, perform EKGs, and administer injections.
- Assist with admin work, perform diabetic retinopathy and depression screenings, and complete stat referrals.
Qualifications
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work with diverse populations including staff, providers, and family members.
- EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience.
Experience
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience in phlebotomy with 6+ months preferred.
- Experience working with elderly patients is preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in technical skills such as EClinicalWorks.
- Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively work with a busy and lean team setup.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
