Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Verifier to join their team. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform insurance verification, ensuring that patients' coverage and benefits are accurately documented and communicated. The role also involves maintaining data integrity, managing records, and providing administrative support while adhering to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Verification: Liaises with external payers to confirm patient coverage and benefits and executes comprehensive documentation regarding reimbursement rates and patient financial responsibility.
- Data Integrity: Audits patient files for demographic and insurance accuracy, performing real-time updates and corrections within the practice management system.
- Case Documentation: Records concise summaries of insurance communications and authorization details within individual patient accounts.
- Records Management: Digitizes and organizes essential documentation, including benefit assignments and financial liability waivers. Coordinates the distribution of completed files to relevant departments and maintains organized digital or physical enrollment records.
- Reporting & Tracking: Utilizes spreadsheet software to monitor workflow volume, tracking the status of accounts from receipt through completion.
- Quality Assurance: Validates that all intake data, including eligibility and demographic details, is captured and entered into the database with high precision.
- Administrative Support: Assists in the upkeep of departmental manuals, logs, and compliance documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintains strict adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards to safeguard sensitive information.
- Operational Efficiency: Observes established office protocols and provides cross-functional support to other business office units as needed to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in insurance verification.
- Must have working knowledge of all insurance plans, PPO, EPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage/Replacement, Medicaid, Medicaid Replacement, and other Government payors such as Triwest Tricare Alliance and Triwest VA.
- Must have working knowledge of insurance portals and possess the ability to obtain benefit information from them.
- Must be comfortable with high production work and heavy phone volume.
- Must live in or near the DFW area.
