Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Representative to ensure accurate and timely billing for professional services. The primary responsibilities include entering and reviewing charges for office, inpatient, dialysis, and other physician services. The role involves working closely with various stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies and maintain updated billing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and review manual charges for professional services daily.
- Resolve charge edits and claim errors before submission.
- Ensure correct billing for various physician services.
- Verify and ensure completeness of diagnosis and procedure codes and insurance information.
- Perform insurance eligibility verification and document findings.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to rectify billing discrepancies.
- Utilize tools like Microsoft Excel for billing reconciliation.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: CPC or RHIT preferred.
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and Medicare/Medicaid/commercial billing requirements.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and billing workflows.
- Skilled in MS Office (intermediate Excel) and EHR/PM systems like Acumen, Epic, NextGen.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and strong in analytical problem-solving and communication.
Experience
- 3+ years in physician/multi-specialty medical billing (nephrology/dialysis preferred).
Skills
- Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly intermediate Excel.
- Experience with EHR/PM systems (e.g., Acumen, Epic, NextGen).
Additional Requirements
- On-site position with a schedule of M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
