Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Hospital Billing (HB) Patient Account Representative to follow up on unpaid hospital claims from commercial and government payers. The primary goal is to ensure timely reimbursement by contacting insurance companies, resolving payment issues, and documenting account activity in billing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and resolve denial codes.
- Review EOBs and ERAs.
- Correct claim errors and billing edits.
- Submit corrected claims and appeals.
- Resolve missing documentation or medical record requests.
- Investigate authorization and referral issues.
- Resolve coordination of benefits (COB) issues.
- Research and resolve credit balances and overpayments.
- Follow up on partial payments and underpayments.
- Document account activity in Epic HB or other billing systems.
- Work a minimum of 50 accounts per day while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2 years of epic experience.
- Strong payer follow-up experience, specifically Anthem experience for Hospital Billing (HB).
- 2+ years of A/R or Patient Account Experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in Epic systems.
- Strong ability to meet productivity quotas, handling 50 accounts per day.
- Proven track record meeting high-quality and productivity metrics in previous roles.
- High-level expertise dealing with Anthem rules, denials, and claim resolution processes.
- Experience navigating organizational change and software migrations.
