Nurse Navigator – Pain Management & Spinal Cord Stimulation (RN)
Pay Rate: $35.00 – $55.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Start times vary between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM)
- OR / Surgery Center Hours: Start times vary based on procedure schedule
- No Direct Patient Care (No DPC)
Location: Denver Colorado, supporting clinic and hospital setting
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Registered Nurse to step into the role of Nurse Navigator. Working closely alongside a Pain Physician and a dedicated clinical pod, you will serve as the primary point of contact and guide for patients undergoing Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) procedures.
This role focuses on pre- and post-procedure navigation, triage, patient clearances, and education. If you thrive in a dynamic outpatient/surgical environment and excel at direct communication and clinical coordination, this is an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Primary Responsibilities
- Patient Guidance & Education: Serve as the main clinical educator for patients exploring Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS). Guide individuals through both trial and permanent implant phases—outlining procedures, equipment use, realistic expectations for partial pain relief versus total resolution, and managing recovery milestones.
- Pre-Procedure Navigation & Clearance: Streamline the surgical clearance process by coordinating necessary psychological, social, and functional evaluations. Work as the central connection point aligning the patient, physician, physical therapy, and surgical teams.
- Trial Phase Oversight & Triage: Walk patients through trial equipment, activity precautions, and dressing protocols. Provide active triage, troubleshooting, and immediate reporting for any technical issues, complications, or post-procedure concerns.
- Care Continuity & Recovery Support: Follow patients through post-implant recovery and rehab, offering steady navigation, follow-up calls, and referrals to ensure long-term stability and continuity of care.
- Outcomes Tracking & Quality Protocol: Log and evaluate patient-reported data—including pain reduction percentages, functional gains, and shifts in medication rely—while maintaining strict adherence to evidence-based SCS clinical guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience: Proven nursing experience in an outpatient clinic, triage, surgical clearance, or specialty care setting. (Not suitable for new graduate nurses).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Prior experience in Pain Management or Interventional Spine care.
