Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Coordinator to join their team. This role involves coordinating team-based medical care for children, preparing and maintaining medical records, ensuring compliance with medical information upload requirements, and actively participating in the planning and evaluation of all medical needs for designated social service programs. The Medical Coordinator will also establish partnerships with medical care providers and provide medical updates to sponsors and family members as appropriate.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Coordinate team-based medical care for children placed in the center.
- Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain accurate medical records and files according to agency policy and licensing requirements.
- Review ORR portal for compliance and ensure timely updates for safety and discharge.
- Provide medical updates to sponsors, family members, and clients when appropriate.
- Participate in medical resource development prior to children’s discharge.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate medical needs for designated social service programs.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with medical care providers.
- Provide documented information on delays in medical assessments.
- Attend meetings and participate in team decisions to address medical needs of children.
- Coordinate medical resources for employees and resource family homes.
- Adhere to Child Abuse and reporting requirements.
- Complete tasks and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
- Attend meetings and training as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s degree (BSN).
Qualifications
- Open to new grad RNs who are eager and passionate about the role.
Experience
- 2+ years working experience in child welfare preferred.
- 1+ years of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care preferred.
Schedule / Shift
Monday - Friday 8a - 5p
