Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Radiology Operations Support Technician to coordinate incoming radiology exams, facilitating efficient review and reporting by the radiologist. This role involves distributing results to clinical staff and physicians while providing telephone support across facilities for clinicians and radiologists.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Process incoming exams, paperwork, and phone calls from contracted hospitals and outpatient imaging centers.
- Monitor worklists and filters within appropriate internal and hospital-based systems.
- Prepare exams for radiologist interpretation, including verifying clinical information and ensuring all pertinent studies are linked for electronic reading.
- Prioritize exams and assign radiologists to meet required turnaround times.
- Send preliminary radiology reports via Fax and/or PACSscan, verifying receipt with relevant units.
- Answer and prioritize multiple incoming calls, distributing them to radiologists as needed.
- Initiate phone calls for radiologists as requested.
- Monitor and respond to email and instant messaging across platforms like Sectra, Teams, and Clario.
- Act as liaison between radiologists, sites, and internal departments.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in a healthcare/medical clerical environment.
- Experience with EPIC EHR system.
- Experience/background within radiology and familiarity with radiology terminology.
- Preferred: Extensive radiology background.
Schedule / Shift
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
