Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Assistant to join their team. This role involves engaging with patients professionally, supporting clinical operations, and ensuring accurate medication administration while collaborating with fellow healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction:
- Engage with patients, explaining prescribed medications, dosage instructions, and adverse reactions.
- Guide patients on lifestyle modifications, preventive healthcare measures, and follow-up care.
- Address patient questions and ensure they understand their treatment options.
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary evaluations and perform clinical procedures such as taking vital signs and phlebotomy.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Medication Administration:
- Administer medications under supervision, ensuring accurate preparation and understanding potential side effects.
- Collaboration with Clinical Team:
- Communicate effectively with providers and healthcare professionals, collaborate on discharge plans, and support new team members.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- BLS certification
- 1-2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred
- Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn Experity and other systems
