Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Pharmacy Technician responsible for processing prescriptions, managing pharmacy inventory, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy. This role involves patient interaction, support in preparing medications, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, fill, and label prescriptions accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Retrieve, count, measure, weigh, pour, and prepare medications for dispensing.
- Enter and maintain prescription and patient information in Liberty pharmacy software and EPIC.
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve prescription and medication-related issues.
- Educate and assist patients with medication pick-up, delivery, and refill procedures while providing excellent customer service.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates.
- Prepare medications using Omnicell adherence packaging and Parata automation systems.
- Support compliance with 340B program requirements and FQHC pharmacy guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment following safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Protect patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA and PHI privacy regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and continuing education.
- Assist with pharmacy reporting, audits, and data collection as needed.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to improve workflow efficiency and support daily operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
- Active MA Pharmacy Technician License
- 1 Year of Experience
- Bilingual in Spanish/Haitian Creole/Cape Verdean preferred
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with a community health center is preferred
Skills
- Proficiency in using Liberty pharmacy software and EPIC
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
