This is an entry-level opportunity to learn and grow in the health information management space. As a Patient Identity Expert, you will research and change data within a hospital information system or an ancillary application during a data reconciliation project.
Key Responsibilities
- Collects designated information from hospital applications that affect merge planning and downstream tasks.
- Performs merges of duplicate medical record numbers in designated applications, following a standard procedure.
- Completes demographic updates to patient records as needed during the electronic merge processing.
- Creates spreadsheets for medical record or radiology jacket retrieval purposes.
- Performs self-monitoring and maintains high-quality standards (95%-97% accuracy).
- Complies with all privacy, security, and confidentiality requirements for handling Protected Health Information.
Qualifications
- Data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to be a self-starter.
- Medical terminology experience or health information management education is preferred.
Work Environment
- Working remotely from a home-office environment.
Schedule
- Part-time (20-25 hours/week) with the potential to increase to 40 hours based on performance and workload.
