Job Title - Medical Assistant
Position Overview
The Medical Assistant delivers high-quality, patient-centered care through face-to-face, telephone, and electronic interactions. This role is responsible for supporting clinic flow, assisting providers with clinical procedures, managing EMR documentation, and preparing diagnostic tests and room setups in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Patient Volume: Handle a high patient volume, safely and efficiently rooming an average of 20–25 patients per day.

Clinic Flow: Maintain a high standard of clinical efficiency, aiming to room patients and initiate vitals within 10 minutes of check-in.

Clinical Support: Assist patients and providers with clinical inquiries, prescription refills, lab results, and specialist referrals; deliver care through face-to-face, telephone, and electronic contact.

Back-Office Duties: Perform routine clinical tasks including taking vital signs, recording chief complaints/medical histories, reviewing medications and allergies, administering injections/immunizations, performing blood draws (phlebotomy), and running EKGs.

Provider Collaboration: Partner closely with physicians and mid-level providers to assist with minor in-office procedures, setups, and patient charting.

EMR Utilization: Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for precise, proper, concise, and complete documentation and charting for all assessments and procedures.

Room & Equipment Prep: Prepare and clean patient rooms and set up instruments and equipment according to protocol while maintaining strict infection control.

Care Coordination: Coordinate patient care and manage tasks, phone calls, and messages as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies.
Required Qualifications

Education/Program: High School Diploma or GED; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or willing to obtain by date of hire.

Experience: 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care preferred).

Clinical Skills: Strong proficiency in back-office clinical skills (injections, venipuncture/phlebotomy, EKG, vitals).

System Familiarity: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and standard clinical charting protocols.

Pace & Travel: Proven experience managing a fast-paced, high-volume patient schedule efficiently. Ability to travel up to 20% (no multi-location travel within a single shift).

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, empathy, active listening, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST (or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM PST depending on clinic hours).
Compensation
$24.00+ hourly
