Job Summary
The Field Specimen Processor & Client Support Specialist plays a critical role in accurately and efficiently collecting, processing, and shipping patient specimens. In addition to field duties, this position provides versatile customer service and administrative support, assisting with patient inquiries, payment collections, portal troubleshooting, and ongoing project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Specimen Collection & Handling: Patient greeting and verification; collection of urine and oral fluid specimens (including observed collections as required); proper packaging and preparation of samples for laboratory shipment.
- Compliance & Safety: Strict adherence to HIPAA, federal/state regulations, and internal compliance standards regarding patient data and billing. Maintenance of safe work environments, standard sample handling practices, and proper use of PPE.
- Customer & Client Support: Managing incoming/outbound calls, resolving patient and provider inquiries, logging tasks in the CRM, and managing shared team inboxes.
- System & Administrative Assistance: Guiding clients through online portal navigation, gathering missing documentation, processing patient payments, and placing supply orders.
- Inventory Control: Maintaining and tracking specimen collection supplies at assigned sites.
- Other Duties: Executing additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience
- 1+ years of customer service or patient-facing experience preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong active listening.

- Solid problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and time-management skills.
