Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant to work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Registered Nurse. The primary responsibilities include facilitating exercise programs, providing direct patient care, maintaining treatment areas and equipment, and performing clerical duties. The role is critical in supporting the health care team by ensuring participants receive optimal care and support.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Assist participants to and from treatment areas and facilitate exercise programs.
- Cue, encourage, and guide participants during treatments and maintenance programs.
- Report any issues with participants to the therapist or medical personnel immediately.
- Maintain treatment areas, ensuring they are organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Have a working knowledge of participant equipment and adaptive aides.
- Log participant data and complete necessary documentation for treatment programs.
- Perform clerical duties such as ordering supplies and scheduling participants.
- Participate in mandatory in-services and training sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all participant and client information.
- Perpetuate a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform other duties as required, maintaining a positive attitude.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification within three months of employment required.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a caregiver, patient care tech, medical assistant, or similar role.
- Proficient in the use of computers, including basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- 1 year experience working in a rehabilitation setting with the frail elderly, preferred.
Schedule / Shift
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
