Accounts Receivable Representative
This fully remote position offers the opportunity to support a well-established cardiovascular physician practice. You will work with a collaborative revenue cycle team while independently managing accounts. This role is contract-to-hire with long-term potential, providing a stable Monday-Friday schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up with commercial and government payers on outstanding insurance balances
- Research and resolve insurance denials and reimbursement issues
- Manage assigned A/R work queues while appropriately prioritizing accounts
- Perform insurance follow-up through phone calls, payer portals, fax, and written correspondence
- Communicate directly with payer representatives to resolve claim issues
- Make appropriate corrections within the practice management system to maximize reimbursement
- Thoroughly document all account activity
- Work independently while collaborating with the revenue cycle team
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of physician practice insurance A/R experience
- Strong commercial and Medicare insurance follow-up experience
- Proven denial resolution experience
- Experience managing insurance A/R work queues
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding, modifiers (including Modifier 25), and CCI edits
- Experience working within clearinghouses and payer portals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Stable work history with demonstrated longevity in previous physician practice insurance A/R roles
- Reliable internet connection with a minimum download speed of 50 Mbps
