Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Type: Hybrid (Onsite for the first 30 days of training, then switches to an alternating 1-week onsite / 1-week remote schedule)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist to ensure our clinical team meets the highest standards of safety and compliance. In this role, you will act as the frontline investigator, processing provider applications, verifying medical backgrounds, and maintaining pristine provider files.

Core Responsibilities

• Data & Verification: Import provider files, scrub data for accuracy, and conduct Primary Source Verification (PSV) for licensing, education, and history.

• Provider Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for providers, answering timeline questions and chasing down expiring credentials (DEA, state licenses).

• Compliance & Safety: Monitor physician sanction sources and immediately escalate any "red flags" or compliance concerns to leadership.

• File Maintenance: Meet department metrics by efficiently processing and closing approximately 17–20 provider files per week.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years of credentialing experience specifically within a hospital, health system, or medical clinic environment.

• Industry Knowledge: A solid foundational understanding of NCQA and Joint Commission accreditation standards.

• Tech Skills: Proficiency with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent written/verbal communication.

Preferred Skills (Plus Tools)

• Previous experience using credentialing software systems (e.g., symplr, MD-Staff, Modio Health, CredentialStream, MedTrainer).
