Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Health Benefits Representative responsible for driving sales growth through developing broker and client relationships, strategic market expansion, and promoting employee benefit solutions. This role involves creating competitive, data-driven proposals, meeting personal sales objectives, and frequently traveling to client or prospect sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Full sales cycle role, focusing on broker and client relationships for employee benefit solutions.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales production expectations, leveraging expertise in ASO and self-funded products.
- Create and present competitive proposals, using market insights and cost-benefit analyses.
- Maintain standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, and proposals.
- Market medical and ancillary products to brokers and employers, formulating plan alternatives and strategies.
- Create new business sales avenues from self-developed sources and referrals.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance sales of product offerings.
- Requires frequent travel to client or prospect sites, reimbursed via company credit card.
Qualifications
- 5+ years proven success in exceeding business sales goals in health benefits, preferably in self-funded, ASO markets.
- Strong working knowledge of benefits insurance as well as self-funding and stop loss reinsurance market.
- Experience explaining third-party, self-insured benefits and ancillary products.
- Knowledge of methods for promoting sales or services; negotiation and presentation skills.
- Active required industry licensing or ability to obtain and maintain within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to travel frequently; must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications like MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, healthcare administration, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with "self-funded" plans.
Additional Requirements
Flexible schedule with no set concrete hours; must be available during business hours to fulfill duties, attend conferences, and meetings.
