Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Central Scheduler responsible for managing high-volume scheduling and customer service operations. The role includes handling inbound and outbound calls, processing scheduling requests via SMS and electronic means, and maintaining thorough documentation and insurance verification processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume inbound phone calls from patients, providers, and physician offices.
- Process SMS, electronic scheduling requests, and web-based appointment requests.
- Schedule appointments across all client locations.
- Complete outbound calls as necessary to manage appointments.
- Assist patients with appointment cancellations and rescheduling.
- Communicate appointment preparation requirements and special instructions.
- Complete patient registration and verify demographic and insurance information.
- Transcribe and scan physician orders and referrals into the EMR.
- Perform real-time insurance eligibility verification and maintain patient accounts for medical and financial eligibility.
- Discuss financial responsibilities with patients and assist with financial assistance screening.
- Support departmental revenue cycle initiatives and maintain compliance with standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-3 years of professional experience in a related field.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to adapt to changing workflows and priorities.
Experience
- Minimum 0-3 years of professional experience.
- Preferred experience in call centers, healthcare scheduling, or patient access.
- Familiarity with EMR (Epic preferred) and understanding of healthcare billing fundamentals.
Skills
