Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to provide peer support and mentorship to clients on their recovery journey. This role involves building trusting relationships, assisting with admissions, facilitating recovery-focused activities, and ensuring client safety and program integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer support and mentorship to clients throughout their recovery journey.
- Build trusting, respectful relationships that promote engagement and accountability.
- Assist with client admissions, orientations, and program integration.
- Help clients understand program expectations, schedules, and resources.
- Support clients in developing coping skills and recovery strategies.
- Observe and report any changes in clients’ physical or mental condition to clinical staff.
- Assist in de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led groups and recovery-focused activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including shift notes and incident reports.
- Monitor client safety, including routine checks and awareness of client whereabouts.
- Assist with transportation needs and off-site appointments as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
- Uphold strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Schedule
- Full Time: 40 hours per week
- Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri + 1 Weekend Day: 8 hour shifts
- 10:30 or 11am to 8pm is preferred
Qualifications
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (or Peer Recovery Coach) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Lived experience with addiction preferred.

- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team player.
