Staff Pharmacist
📍 Lynchburg, VA | 4-Day Workweek
Medix is partnering with a unique client of ours, one of the nation's leading cannabis companies, to hire a Staff Pharmacist for their dispensary in Lynchburg, Virginia.
This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists looking to step away from traditional retail pharmacy while maintaining a patient-focused role. Position Highlights
- Location: Lynchburg, VA
- Employment: 13 week travel assignment, also accepting local talent
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (4 days on, 3 days off)
- Operating Hours:
- Monday–Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Sunday: Approximately 5–6 hours

Responsibilities
- Accurately process patient orders from start to finish
- Retrieve products directly from the secure inventory vault, including flower, pre-rolls, vape products, and other cannabis products
- Scan and verify products prior to dispensing
- Verify every patient order through the Virginia state compliance system to ensure legal purchasing limits are met
- Maintain strict compliance with all state pharmacy and cannabis regulations
- Work efficiently in a high-volume, manual dispensing environment
- Operate independently during portions of the day while collaborating with pharmacy technicians and dispensary staff during busier periods
- Maintain pharmacist presence within the dispensing area to satisfy state regulatory requirements
- Ensure accuracy, organization, and excellent patient service throughout the dispensing process
Requirements
- Active Virginia Pharmacist License
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail or community pharmacy
- Ability to work efficiently in a manual workflow without automated dispensing systems
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and retrieving inventory throughout the day
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with high-volume retail pharmacies such as:
- CVS
- Walgreens
- Rite Aid
- Walmart Pharmacy
- Experience managing pharmacy operations independently
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills
- Adaptability in fast-paced environments
