Pharmacist
Location: Lynchburg, VA
Position Type: 13-Week Contract, Four 10-Hour Shifts/Week
Salary: $3,015 - $3,495 / week (Gross, depending on experience)
Start Date: August 24, 2026
About the Role
Are you an experienced Pharmacist looking for a competitive weekly rate, strong schedule stability with three days off per week, and a retail environment with no insurance processing or phone calls?
We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. In this role, you will manage manual order processing, state compliance verification, and back-of-house operations in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting. If you are a self-reliant, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-volume environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Manual End-to-End Order Processing: Accurately pull required products (such as flower, pre-rolls, and vapes) directly from the inventory vault, bring them to your workstation, and scan to validate items before dispensing.
- Ensure State Compliance Verification: Check the online state compliance registry for every order to validate patient limits and ensure all transactions strictly adhere to legal dispensing regulations.
- Operate in a High-Volume, Manual Environment: Efficiently navigate a fast-paced, high-volume retail setting completely manually, without the assistance of automated dispensing machinery (like Pyxis or Omnicell systems).
- Maintain Solo & Team Adaptability: Work independently and handle back-of-house operations confidently during solo shifts, while effectively collaborating with shared pharmacy technicians and front-of-house specialists during peak hours.
- Uphold Facility Regulatory Standards: Maintain a consistent physical presence in the dispensing area to fulfill state legal requirements, ensuring the facility vault can remain open and operational for patients.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Setting: Retail Pharmacy.
- Hours: Four 10-hour shifts per week (4 days on, 3 days off). Pharmacists typically work standard full operational shifts from open to close. Business operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and 5 to 6 hours on Sundays.
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a consistent 4-day workweek with strictly scheduled breaks.
- Patient Volume: Fast-paced, high-volume retail setting.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Certifications & Licenses: Must hold an active, valid Pharmacist license in the state of Virginia, along with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Experience: Proven experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume retail or community pharmacy environment. Prior experience working in high-volume, big-box retail pharmacies (such as CVS or Walgreens) is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Manual Workflow Competency—ability to work efficiently in a completely manual environment without automated dispensing systems, with strong attention to detail and physical stamina to pull inventory while on your feet. Comfort navigating online state databases to verify compliance and patient legal limits quickly and accurately for every transaction.
- Soft Skills: Strong capability to work independently, manage the pharmacy back-of-house confidently during stretches or entire shifts without technician support, and maintain strict regulatory adherence with minimal oversight.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive weekly gross pay ($3,015 - $3,495/week depending on experience).
- Exceptional work-life balance compared to traditional big-box pharmacies—absolutely no insurance processing and no phone-based customer interactions.
- Great schedule flexibility with four 10-hour shifts and three full days off per week, featuring strictly scheduled breaks.
- A direct opportunity to support an established retail practice in Lynchburg, VA.
